Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital unveils place of healing for patients and families
Sometimes, having a quiet, peaceful place to rest can be a vital component of the cancer treatment process. Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital recognized this important aspect of care with the creation of a special garden for cancer patients and their families.
In September, we unveiled our new Alta Farris and Don King Healing Garden. It’s the final jewel in the crown of our completely remodeled campus. The ability to receive this kind of care and support so close to home is priceless for cancer patients.
The garden is a 6,000-square-foot sanctuary that was also built with the families of cancer patients in mind. It offers a variety of soothing experiences, including a water fountain, arbor, shady trees, fragrant flowers and artwork. It also features commemorative bricks, planters, benches and trees purchased by donors to memorialize or honor their loved ones.
The garden was made possible thanks to the King family, generous community donors, dedicated board members medical staff and employees as well as the Sullivan community.
