HIGH SPEED LIGHT RAIL
I think High Speed Light Rail could be a big shot in the arm for BJC. (no pun intended) There are many areas in the Midwest and Mid-South that could use access to a State of the Art Medical Center in a timely manner. Not to seem too much like George Jetson but it isn’t unreasonable to see a High Speed Train with a "Med-Car" attached, much like the old time Caboose. A Med-Car would be equipped like an Ambulance. As mentioned in a previous Blog, I think the Government could spend our tax dollars much better by building "Super Clinics" which are, an ordinary Clinic, with Dialysis and Chemo-Infusion Units added on. Many outlying areas need a Super Clinic for their population because much of todays Healthcare is basic "maintenance" of people with medical conditions. That said, people still need Hospitals because that’s where Surgeries and very High Tech testing and procedures are performed. This is where High Speed Light Rail could be of use. Also, the Relatives of Patients could commute back and forth daily without having an expensive Hotel/Motel bill attached. Where would Train Stations be put? They would look like an Octopus with many children, each of the tenacles would reach out to a Community with the "Main Train" passing through the middle of each Octopus. What do you think? Too much Science fiction? Also, my view on Government is this. If we don’t grab the money, some other guy will. Get it while you can. And, oh yes, the Government Super Clinics would issue a contract to be operated by BJC personnel. Happy Holidays!
