Should hospitals provide care to everyone regardless of their ability to pay?

Now why does the majority respond "yes" to this question, but the majority is also in favor of the status quo regarding our broken system of providing health care? It just indicates the underlying ignorance of the American population? People are basically in favor of universal health care but no one wants to foot the bill; is that it?

I responded, "Yes" to this question because I am very much in favor of completely rehauling the health insurance business, am very much in favor of universal health care, and even though I am on a very low "fixed income" where my monthly insurance cost is 1/4 of my total monthly pay (and my mortgage is 1/2 of my total monthly pay), I would be more than willing to receive less if it meant that our country would provide universal health care!

However, I DO believe you have an extremely valid point as I have heard so very many people who are almost violently against universal health care, but I'm sure would answer "yes" to this question because, morally, they know it's the right thing to do. They simply don't seem to understand that the very idea of a hospital providing care to everyone regardless of their ability to pay is EXACTLY what they are so vehemently opposing!
