Alton Memorial Hospital EMTs, doctors and nurses

On behalf of all the kids and grandkids of Bill and Helen Fair, I want to express our appreciation and gratitude for the care they received this past weekend at Alton Memorial Hospital. They were doing yard work this past Friday and due to the extreme heat, both of them ended up in your Emergency Room – AT THE SAME TIME, in adjoining rooms! We made light of it at the time, but all of us realized it was a very serious situation.
We want to thank everyone at Alton Memorial involved in their care, especially:
-the EMT’s that cared and transported our father, who has heart issues, from their home in East Alton and one EMT who stayed behind, insisting over the ‘strong’ objections from our mother, that she should also be taken to the Emergency Room. He called a second ambulance for her transport.
-the nurses and doctors in the ER, who assessed their individual issues and addressed them quickly, including a heart cath for our mother to evaluate their concerns of a possible heart attack.
-the nurses and doctors in ICU who cared for our mother, making her as comfortable as possible and spending whatever time necessary to explain her progress and prognosis and answer all of our questions and concerns.
-the nurses and doctors on IMU for their vigilant attention and concerns for our father and our mother’s comfort and also spending time to advise their progress and prognosis and answer all our questions.
Please pass this along with our sincere gratitude to everyone involved, for their excellent care. Alton Memorial Hospital, in our opinion, is a world class hospital and continues to strive to improve all aspects of their services.
Thank you on behalf of Bill and Helen Fair.
Mike Fair and our entire family
