A patient was admitted to Parkland Health Center. There were no family or friends to help during either of this patient’s admissions. The patient needed help as the patient’s dog was home alone and the temperatures outside were below freezing and in the single digits to below zero at night. Willow Beal, RN, Parkland Health Center ICU, offered to help the patient during each admission. She did not know the patient, did not know the patient’s family, did not even know the exact circumstances, but did know she wanted to help the patient and the patient’s best friend, his dog. KUDOS to Willow Beal!!!

That's true compassion and service, doing what is right even if its outside the job responsibilities.
