Make Medicine Better

Dr. Bledsoe is a primary care physician at Christian Hospital. I would like to nominate her for continuing to see patients in her practice after an elderly patient inadvertently drove her car through a wall in the practice!

Recently Dr. Bledsoe was in her office charting when she heard a loud noise and suddenly saw the office wall immediately to her right come crashing in. Dr. Bledsoe jumped up from her desk, grabbed her office staff and went running from the building. Outside of the building they saw one of their elderly patients had inadvertently drove her car over the sidewalk, across the grass and into the brick wall. Fortunately the patient and everyone in the practice were not hurt. Emergency, security and maintenance personnel from CH responded immediately. As soon as Dr. Bledsoe was told the back portion of her practice was safe to enter she and her staff returned AND CONTINUED TO SEE PATIENTS, albeit she had to take them though the back door of the practice. Dr.Bledsoe even took the time to run down to the emergency room and check on the status of the elderly patient who ran into the wall. Dr. Bledsoe is what I consider ‘the whole package’ when it comes to being a health care professional. She is not only talented clinically, she is also kind and caring to her patients and staff. She feels passionately about her practice ‘purpose’ and despite an obstacle (such as a car through a practice wall!) she stays focused on her end goal – to provide quality, compassionate care to her patients! We are fortunate to have Dr. Bledsoe practice at Christian Hospital and NorthWest Healthcare!
