| Why when lung cancer is listed as the #1 killer of all cancers is there very little, if any, side effects or after effects listed? Even the Doctor's comments are few, and support groups are almost non-existent. more >>> |

| I had X-Rays taken at the Missouri Baptist Radiology and Lab, down the hall from my doctor's office in Building A (it was not in the hospital "proper"), this week. As I sat and waited for my turn to get my X-Rays taken, I saw a number of people taken in and out of the X-Ray room. The stainless steel bed/platform had a pillow on it. There was never a cover put over the pillow or the pillow changed, that I could see, between patients. No tissue covering was put on the steel bed between patients, nor did I see the bed sprayed and cleaned bet... more >>> |
| Recently I visited a friend who was suffering from chronic depression, but now she has a pretty normal life, as a matter of fact she has a happier life than what she had before depression. This made me real curious and I couldn't help but asked her the remedies. I was surprised to know that she was not taking any pills and she achieved this on her own by exercise and mood lifting. Though I was sure about exercise but I didn't know about mood lifting. She explained 'mood lifting' as a thought process in which one doesn't think about anything ... more >>> |

Joseph Finnigan | This campaign is a sham, but if BJC really wants to make medicine better it should start in-house by doing something about all of the morbidly overweight nurses and other so-called healthcare professionals who populate almost every floor and department of Barnes. Set the example for others, then you can use your pulpit to advise others on how to live healthy, productive lives. more >>> |
| Over the last few weeks, I've noticed that BJC has been promoting the need for platelets.

Connie Dennis | I had a DREAM several years ago and in my dream the surgen was using a long pin point type of tool to insert into the skin and project down to the point in the body where the cancer was... In my Dream This tool was able to freeze the surrounding area in which the cancer existed.. after freezing the area, the surgen then cut the skin and cut down to the frozen area and was able to remove all of the cancer as it was frozen and did not spread while being cut away ?????? I don't know if something like this could be possible, but I do believe in... more >>> |

Penny J. Levitt | Why is there so much advertising concerning medications that not only have to be prescribed by a physician, but costs the advertising company money that they don't need to spend? The more advertising money spent, the higher the prescriptions are. And why in the world do the drug companies advertise Prescription medication? People can't go out and get it, it needs a doctor's prescription so why not leave it up to the doctors and save money? more >>> |

Jane Loncaric | I took my 'significant other' to the emergency room at St. Anthony's Hospital a few months ago.
He was expreiencing difficult breathing. A nurse put an oxygen apparatus in his nose.
We waited in the room for 4 hours before anyone came in to see him.
It was freezing in the room and they closed the curtain between the room and the nurses desks.
They took him for a chest xray and said he had fluid on his lungs.
We stayed in the refrigerated room for two more hours.
Then they did an EKG and we sat for three more hours. After readin... more >>> |

How about lets start by making healthcare affordable. The vast majority of the population makes less than 30,000 dollars per year. Doctors salaries excess 200,000 plus on average. How can you expect to reap a harvest from people who have nothing, barely surviving in almost all situations, especially in the world of today. Are you stupid? Or is it that as a so called medical professional (I'm a mechanic by the way, Automotive master physician) If I know your a doctor, especially one with an attitude, I'm going to stick it to you, ... more >>> |

Nancy LeMaster | We have studied the issue of plastic versus reusable cloth bags and use the plastic bags primarily for safety reasons followed by cost considerations. Linen bags must be liquid proof and able to contain blood and body fluids. Cloth bags that are sturdy enough to meet this requirement are very hard to wash and ensure all traces of blood and fluids have been removed. The cost of the plastic bags is $.12 and we use 1.5 million per year. When you consider the cost of purchasing, replacing and washing cloth bags the cost per use is $.34 and would... more >>> |

james christeck | I would like to see Research done on the the "Flu" from the following point of view. It has always been my contention that the "Flu" is really a product of our having too much bacteria built up in our intestines and/or colon. I feel this way because most, if not all people get a case of diahrea along with all the other symptoms. The bout of diahrea cleanses out the intestines and colon and in a few days or less you're feeling well again. I would like to see a comparison made of people who eat a "normal" fatty di... more >>> |

Eulonda Nevels | As a transitional housing provider we can help to support and make medicine better by encouraging those we serve and in our general community to: (1) once a month review all health care issues; (2) update medication list and keep notes for their next medical visit; (3) check for needed medication refills; (4) review upcoming and needed doctor's appointments; (5) keep a log of any new symptoms, side effects, or health care concerns; (6) carry information with you at all times for use in emergencies and (7) if possible use "one" pha... more >>> |
| I would like to patent Y2-Swine as opposed to Y2K. As we live in a media blitzed society, it always seems inequitable for the media to over-expose the latest acute buzz and overlook the chronic watered-downed stories that have larger impact overall. Thus the barrage of Swine Flu calamatous statistics creating a fevered pitch with all ages, when the silent CA killer continues its trek for the record books. I have always thought if people took the money that they "invest" in every powerball lottery ticket, pick 3, pick 5, pick ___ (... more >>> |

james christeck | I have often wondered why the State of Missouri allows the West County Mall to have it's own private exit ramp on Northbound 270 and we, who actually provide Medical Services to the Public do not. There is plenty of room to add one or even two or three exit lanes onto Northbound 270 and access the currently unused back portion of our surface Parking Lot next to the Main Doctors Building (ABC) Maybe nobody has ever thought of it, but it certainly would be worthwhile, not the least of which being its use by Ambulances. I wish the Hospital woul... more >>> |
